With my roommate out of town and me done with classes for the day, that would make me extremely bored which means it's time for a new list! I am currently on a huge television kick, which is actually nothing new. But I have a show for nearly every day of the week now. So, I'm going to list some of my favorite television shows that are currently airing. Here we go!
10. My Name is Earl - I don't watch this show often, because I never really started to, but the times I have it's been pretty funny.
9. Mythbusters - This show is on all the time on Discovery and it's always a blast to watch. They have some of the coolest jobs in the world. It's a really cool show, always interesting, and I watch it as often as I can.
8. The Late Show with David Letterman - I can't stand Leno, but Letterman is a genius. Whether it's "Will It Float", "Throwing Stuff Off of the Ed Sullivan Theater", "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches, or "Know Your Current Events", Letterman is hysterical. I love Conan, but since I'm on a Letterman kick right now, he gets on the list.
7. Prison Break - This wouldn't be this low on the list had I started watching season 2. I saw the first season over the summer and got hooked. But, due to my busy schedule, I missed the first 2 episodes of season 2 and I just can't do that...
6. House - Hugh Laurie is a great actor, and Dr. Gregory House is one of the best TV characters of all time. He is hysterical and a genius rolled in to one... Much like myself. Again, if I watched this more often, it would definately be higher.
5. The Knights of Prosperity - Yeah, I just started watching this show online last night, but it was hilarious. Unfortunately, I think this show may be too smart for some people and it may go out much like Arrested Development did. All the full episodes are online at ABC.com and they are great. This is a great show, and it's moving up the list quickly.
4. The Colbert Report - And now starts the list of shows I watch religiously. I rarely miss and episode of the Colbert Report. He is extremely funny. I used to like the Daily Show, but Colbert is much funnier. The guy is a genius and my hero.
3. The Office - The funniest show on television, bar none. The first two seasons were absolutely golden, each season better than the next, and season 3 is no exception. Steve Carell is genius in this role. His character Michael Scott ranks up there towards the top of the greatest, as does that of Dwight Schrute. The writers, which are also characters on the show (Ryan the temp, Kelly, and Toby), are excellent as well. It is a comedy gold mine.
2. Heroes - This obsession also started like Knights of Prosperity did. I watched these online after I caught an episode on TV one night. I've been hooked ever since. I suggest everyone watch this. It is GREAT television. The characters are great and their storylines are wonderful. There is only one other show that I've had a bigger obsession with......
1. 24 - Best show on TV. I don't care what anybody says. Jack Bauer will be my write-in vote for '08. This season has been awesome so far. My obsession with this show is unhealthy, but I love it. Sure some of our old favorites are gone (R.I.P. David Palmer, Tony Almeida, Michelle Dessler, Edgar Styles, and Curtis Manning), but the new characters are great. This show is awesome and NO ONE will convince me otherwise.
Biggest Movers:
Saturday Night Live - This show took a nose dive after Ferrell left, but it has recently started coming back, and thank the Lord it has. I couldn't stand to look at the train wreck that used to be SNL, but with a new lead writer (Seth Meyers) and some new great talent (i.e. Andy Samberg and Bill Hader) and the improvement of several players like Will Forte and Kenan Thompson this show may just be on its way back to the top.
Friday Night Lights - I thought this show would be awful when I heard about it, but it's actually very good. It's got some actors that suprise you with how good they really are. Not necessarily some big names, but they are really good actors. It combines a lot of different elements like comedy, drama, and romance and makes for a very entertaining show.
Honorable Mentions:
LOST - I'll give credit where credit's due. I've never seen the show, but I hear from a lot of people who's television opinions I respect (Jason Bybee) that it is very good. So with that said, I had to give it some credit.
Well, there you have it, folks! Let me know what you think!

You must acknowledge the greatness that is LOST, my friend.
I've been pleased with 24 so far, but I feel like I'm watching Willie Mays playing out the string in the twilight of his career. Maybe it's because they killed off so many of my favorites (Where art thou, George Mason?). Maybe it was last year's plot involving the leader of the free world. Maybe it's the result of my ridiculously high expectations for any show I watch. But 24's not the same to me. In my humble opinion, Season 4 was the masterpiece that has ruined all subsequent seasons for me. That would've been the coolest way to end a series EVER...Jack simply walks into the sunlight, headed for Mexico, everyone assuming he's dead. He's done his duty and now he'll live out the rest of his days in the quiet anonymity bequeathed to him as the result of his heroism and patriotism. THAT, would've cemented 24 as the greatest of the great, in my book.
Anyway, can't argue with the list. You've got some keepers there. I'm late to the Office bandwagon, but it's good. So is Earl.
Love Prison Break and 24. Would like to watch Heroes, I think I'll wait till the summer and watch the re-runs.
Need a reality show up there somewhere though.
