25 Things You May Not Know About Me

1. From middle school to about 9th or 10th grade, I was a Star Trek nerd. I watched Star Trek: Voyager religiously. I'm not going to lie... I still watch it on Spike TV.

2. When I was a senior in high school, I, like most males about to graduate, was recruited by several of the armed forces. I was only called by the Air Force and Navy, and they quit calling me because I told them I was 6'3" 275 lbs, and they said I was too big. And I quote, "6'3" 275, good Lord... well, I don't think you'll be too comfortable on a submarine... Well, it was good talking to you."

3. Along the same lines, I was once chastised by Jared the Subway Guy about my size. Long story.

4. I didn't know how to ride a bike until I was 11.

5. I almost drowned when I was 5.

6. When I was younger, I would ride every roller coaster at 6 Flags over Georgia except the Georgia Cyclone, which is the most primitive one... don't as me why. I don't know.

7. I would directly inject Berry Propel into my veins if I could, it's that good.

8. I have a scar on my left knee from trying to play Superman when I was young and jumping off my front porch like an idiot.

9. If I could meet anyone in the world, I would pick my grandfather on my dad's side.

10. My middle name is "Griner". It was my dad's father's last name before he was adopted. I know... it can be a little confusing...

11. My parents were going to name me Zachary. They opted for Jacob, and dad has since regretted not just naming me Jake.

12. I've never played a full game of Monopoly.

13. I once went as Ernest P. Worrell for Halloween. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, do yourself a favor and rent an Ernest film, i.e. Ernest Goes to Jail, Ernest Goes to Camp, etc.)

14. The reason I am an avid Green Bay Packers fan is because when I was a kid, I got a kick out of the fact that their fans wore cheese on their heads. It's been love ever since...

15. My DVDs have to be organized in alphabetical order and in two separate genres: Comedy and Drama/Action. It's the one thing I'm OCD about for some reason.

16. I have six best friends. Two are named Wes, one is from Iowa, one has diabetes, and the other is an ex-Bible teacher of mine.

17. When I was younger, I was obsessed with LEGOs. I could build anything with those.

18. In 5th grade, I won the speech contest for the D.A.R.E. program. Yeah...

19. I was Homecoming King. Yeah, I don't know how either...

20. My father is my hero.

21. My first car was a 1992 Mercury Topaz, affectionately known as "Maxi". Ask me why and I'll tell you.

22. My favorite movie of all time is Apollo 13.

23. When I was younger, I was blonde. And thin... and cute...

24. Nutter Butters are my favorite cookies. Hands down. (Must have with a tall glass of milk)

25. Originally, my dad and I would practice football in the front yard when I was younger. For what position? Quarterback. That's of course before we knew I'd be 6'3" 275.

Something else you all may not know. Jake hosted the first (and only) episode of Matchmaker. That ascot was very debonair, my friend.

Ah, yes, Matchmaker. It lasted about as long as "The Wayne Brady Show" I believe. Man, I wish I still had that ascot... it's great for the ladies.
